- Biography:
Francis or Frank Grueter was born in South Boston in 1882. He was the fourth surviving child and first surviving son of Bernard GR?TER and Josephine MIETHE. He was probably baptized at Holy Trinity Church in Boston.
He graduated from the Holy Trinity Grammar School where he learned to read and write pure German and correct English, taught by the German Franciscan Nuns from Philadelphia. At home, the family spoke the Platt Deutsch dialect of German.
Frank worked as a machinist in Cambridge.
Frank married Mary _____, and they had two known children.
Frank was the first of the sons to die, and he died in his early sixties.
